Understanding Our Condition and Grading System
At Pop Shed, every item is individually inspected so you know exactly what you are buying.
We use a clear six-tier grading system, along with our Mixed Grades badge for multi-Pop sets.
This page explains what each badge means and how we assess your items.
Premium Grade
Our highest level of collectible quality.
A Premium Grade item meets strict collector standards:
- Box condition typically 9/10 or 10/10
- Figure condition is flawless or near flawless
- Sharp corners, clean window, no crushing or major creasing
- Ideal for display, investment, and collectors who want the best
Premium Grade items often include detailed photography.
Collector Grade
High-quality condition suitable for collectors.
Collector Grade items show only light, minimal wear:
- Box condition usually 8/10 or higher
- Minor shelf wear or slight corner rubbing
- Small window scuffs
- Figure in excellent condition
Standard Grade
Good overall condition with regular signs of handling.
Standard Grade items may show:
- Noticeable small creases or dents
- Light window marks
- Corner wear
- General shelf wear or age-related imperfections
Standard Grade items are an affordable choice for collectors.
Display Grade
Best for out-of-box collectors or buyers who do not require an intact display box.
Display Grade items may show one or more of the following:
- Heavy creasing or crushing
- Tears, dents or damaged window
- Sun fade or worn corners
- Box not suitable for display
The figure itself will always be in acceptable condition unless otherwise stated.
Signed with COA
A signed Pop that includes an official Certificate of Authenticity.
This badge is applied when:
- The Pop is hand-signed
- A Certificate of Authenticity is included
- The signing source is verifiable (event, studio, signing company)
Photos of the signature and the COA are always provided.
Mixed Grades
Used for multi-Pop sets that contain items with different conditions or grades.
The Mixed Grades badge indicates:
- The set contains Pops of varying conditions
- The description should be checked for full item-by-item grading
- Photos will show the individual condition of each item wherever possible
This badge helps ensure transparency when sets include a mixture of Premium, Collector, Standard or Display items.
How We Grade Each Pop
Pop Shed uses a three-point grading inspection:
1. Box Condition
We assess:
- Creases
- Window clarity
- Corner wear
- Crushing
- Tears
- Overall structural shape and display appeal
2. Figure Condition
We check the figure for:
- Paint quality
- Marks or scuffs
- Factory defects
- Shape and stability
- Overall aesthetic condition
3. Signature Condition (If Applicable)
For signed Pops, we assess:
- Signature strength and clarity
- Any streaking or smudging
- Placement
- Quality of the COA
- Overall presentation
